Introducing Dr. Daniel Peltonen of Monroe

For years I suffered with headaches. They were the 'normal, end of the day - "stress" type headaches'. I was accustomed to them, so that was not what brought me to the Chiropractor's office. I was there because I sprained my low back. However, Dr Dave also discovered misaligned vertebrae in my neck that I know related to a high school football injury. That's when the headaches had started.

The first adjustment opened up a new world for me. Lights appeared brighter, colors more vivid. My thoughts were even more clear. That's when I realized I wanted to become a Chiropractor.

Monroe, Washington chiropractor, Dr. Daniel Peltonen

I enrolled in night school to fulfill the various Chemistry and Biology courses I missed in high school and college. On the first day of spring in 1977 my wife and toddler son, along with all our belongings were loaded into a U-haul truck heading for Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. There I began four academic years of intense study of the human body including biochemistry, a major emphasis in anatomy and physiology, x-ray, diagnosis, Chiropractic Adjusting Procedures and patient care in the Palmer College Public Clinic. This was followed by a voluntary one year internship in spinal biophysics in Phoenix, Arizona.

I returned to Western Washington in August, 1981 and opened the doors to Sky Valley Chiropractic Clinic. Twenty six years later I recall that first Chiropractic adjustment as if it happened yesterday. I've had the privilege to participate in thousands of " Success Stories" just like mine. I am still as excited now as I was then about our body's own ability to heal from injuries and attain a higher level of health by using natural Chiropractic methods. I embrace the opportunity to work with children to help prevent many chronic conditions that unknowingly develop because of improper communication between the brain and the rest of the body due to spinal nerve stress.

My toddler son, Mitch is now in his thirties, married and has blessed us with a beautiful granddaughter, Katelyn. My wife, Annie and I have two more grown children, Kenny and Anna. Anna is recently married and Kenny is soon to be. We feel so fortunate that they have made wise choices in the directions they have each chosen. Each so different, yet all of us closely bonded.

Personally, I arrange to have my spine checked weekly. My method of adjusting is physically demanding and I want to be in tip top shape. I regularly attend exercise classes 3 times per week and allow for a less structured exercise regiment such as walking, biking or hiking 2 times per week. (Quite often you may see me in the local Fitness Club if the weather is not cooperative.)

“Enough about me! How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care? Give us a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health.”

Dr. Daniel Asks some important questions of interest to Monroe residents - Chiropractor Monroe Dr. Daniel Asks...

What does a chiropractic adjustment do?
Chiropractic adjustments give your spine a little "nudge" at the right place, right time and the right direction so your body can use that energy to "right" itself. With a schedule of consistent chiropractic visits, a new, healthier spinal pattern emerges.
What's the difference between chiropractic and medicine?
Medical treatment focuses on the disease or the symptom. Chiropractic focuses on the person with the disease or the symptom. Medical treatment usually involves changing blood chemistry. Chiropractic involves restoring nervous system integrity. Medical doctors prescribe medicine. Chiropractors adjust the spine—a common source of nervous system interference.
